🇺🇸 A Special Gift to Turner County Schools! 🇺🇸

Turner County Schools extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to American Legion Post 98 for their generous donation of 60 American flags, poles, and brackets—enough to place an American flag in every classroom across our district!

After recognizing the need, Melissa Folsom reached out to Jimmy Whiddon, Commander of American Legion Post 98, and the members of Post 98 stepped up in a big way. The donation was officially presented during the September 10th Turner County Board of Education meeting.

We are incredibly grateful to these veterans for their service to our country and for their continued support of our students, schools, and community. ❤️🤍💙

These flags will serve as a daily reminder of the freedoms we enjoy and the brave men and women who have served to protect them.

Thank you, American Legion Post 98! 🇺🇸
Strong Schools. Stronger Community.

🇦🇺🌏 Learning Beyond the Classroom!

Mrs. Stubbs’ 6th graders enjoyed a special visit from Principal Purvis, who took time to share photos and stories from his experiences in Australia! Students enjoyed seeing the sights through his photos and hearing firsthand about his time there.

We love seeing our school leaders share their experiences, connect with students, and bring learning to life! 💙🧡

Instructional consultant John O’Connor of Great Instruction, Inc. recently visited Turner County Middle School and Turner County High School to conduct classroom observations and provide instructional feedback. His work with our schools focuses on strengthening instructional practices through meaningful student practice, purposeful feedback, and strategies that keep students actively engaged in the learning process. These classroom visits also provide an opportunity to identify areas of strength and determine where additional support can have the greatest impact. During his visit, O’Connor focused on the importance of practice turns and feedback cycles, giving students frequent opportunities to demonstrate their learning, receive timely feedback, and use that feedback to continue improving. His visit is just one part of this ongoing work. O’Connor will return in the coming weeks to provide professional learning for teachers and work alongside them in classrooms to put these strategies into practice. This continued support will allow teachers to see the strategies in action and consider how they can be incorporated into daily instruction. Turner County Schools appreciates this partnership and the opportunity to continue investing in strong teaching and meaningful learning experiences for our students.

🌟 POSITIVE INTERACTIONS BUILD STRONGER CONNECTIONS! 🌟

At Turner County Middle School, Leader in Me is about more than teaching leadership—it’s about investing in our students every single day. 🧡💙

Dr. Terence Clemons demonstrates how meaningful conversations, encouragement, and guidance can help students build confidence, develop character, and recognize the leader within themselves.

🎯 FOCUS. Set goals and stay the course.
🌱 GROW. Learn, embrace challenges, and be coachable.
⭐ SUCCEED. Lead by example and make a positive impact.

These everyday interactions matter. They build trust, strengthen relationships, and remind our students that they have the ability to lead and make a difference.

Lead Yourself. Inspire Others. Change the World. 💙🧡

Thank you, Coach Williford, for always stepping up to teach, lead, and care for our students—in so many ways! 👏

🍎✨ Students Leading Students! ✨🍎

Ms. Wooten’s 7th grade ELT students are taking charge of their own learning! Today, students stepped into the role of teacher as they helped their classmates learn how to identify adjectives and adjective phrases. 📚✏️

They put their Level 4 leadership skills into action by leading others and helping them succeed! 💙🧡

Way to go, young leaders! We love seeing our Titans learn, lead, and grow together! 🌟
